Inclusion Criteria
  • Adults (≥18 years)
  • Hypothermic Cardiac Arrest (HCA)
  • Core temperature ≤28°C (≤82°F)
  • NO Asphyxia (exclude: submersion with airway in water, avalanche burial with cardiac arrest at extrication)
  • Initial hemoglobin, serum potassium and serum lactate concentrations measured from arterial blood before ECLS initiation
Indoors Hypothermia in a place of permanent residence (e.g. home, abandoned building).
Outdoors Exposure to environmental cold without shelter (e.g. street, wilderness, open space).
